"We try to think that our office sets itself apart when we market something such as a family practice, that we're talking about from babies to senior citizens. And each is in a different way, in how you have to approach these people. And we also are dealing with people that we're in their space, we're in their mouth.
There are some people that don't like you within two feet of them, so how can they feel comfortable with us doing that? And we have to acknowledge that when we see patients, and I believe we do. We offer things here, for instance, we have the techniques that we can restore a cavity without even having to pick up a drill or put any noise in the patient's mouth, or even give them a shot. That means so much to a child, that means so much to a person who's so afraid of shots.
What can we do with that person, well, there's lots we can do. And we offer many things here. There are people that might need (inaudible), they might need (inaudible), they might need just an assuring hand on their shoulder and say, I'm with you on this. We're gonna get through it. And I think that's what it means to treat everyone.
When you have a senior citizen, do you talk louder? Do you respect them? Do you sit at their level and look at them? And I think we have to again, respect that this is a person there and they have life things happening to them just as we do. Gosh, when we come into a practice, I think our own employees know that it's going to be better. When they park their car out in the parking lot, they don't have to leave their values in the car, they can bring those values into the practice.
And I think that patients feel that value. We value, we love children and we love senior citizens, and we try to let everyone in between know that's why we're here. We have a passion for people besides the crowns we're doing."
